Dès le début de mon intérêt pour le coaching, puis en formation, et à travers de multiples discutions avec mes pairs, la notion d’être un coach au clair avec ses idées, l’esprit dégagé pour pouvoir coacher s’est imposée.
Et pour tout dire, j’étais moralement d’accord avec cette idée.
Jusqu’au jour où, à quelques minutes d’une séance en présentiel, plutôt en fin de journée, j’hésite à appeler la cliente pour reporter.
J’ai la tête pleine de soucis, de préoccupations, dont je ne saurais vous rapporter la teneur aujourd’hui, mais ce qui est sûr c’est que je pensais ne pas être prêt à recevoir la cliente. Je me remémorais toutes ces discutions sur la nécessité de ne pas entrer en séance avec mes “bagages à la main“…
Finalement, je n’appelle pas et la reçois comme à mon habitude en l’accueillant à la porte.
Je réalise à ce moment précis, qu’une bascule a lieu. Entre le moment où elle sonne et le moment ou je lui ouvre, les préoccupations de Stéphane passent, non pas à un deuxième mais bien à un dixième plan.
Je rentre à nouveau dans le processus de la cliente, je suis à 100% présent à ses côtés, dédié, opérationnel et déterminé à continuer notre “construction“.
La séance se déroule normalement, et après son départ j’enchaine comme d’habitude avec mon auto-évaluation, revenant, petit à petit, dans mon quotidien.
Je relis mes notes, j’en complète certaines et là, progressivement, je réalise que mes soucis, mes interrogations d’avant séance, ne sont plus aussi présents.
Je comprends que la direction dans laquelle la cliente avait souhaité orienter sa séance et l’atteinte de son objectif du jour, m’avait également permis, à posteriori, d’avancer, d’obtenir des clefs pour trouver mes propres réponses à ces questionnements.
Ce peut-il que nous soyons capables de ce genre de discernement ?
Ai-je été trop négligeant puis chanceux ?
Mon attitude manquait-elle de professionnalisme ? Soyez francs.
