Depuis longtemps, la position de coach interne, au sein d’une organisation, m’interroge.
Trop souvent, le coaching est instrumentalisé pour devenir un faire-valoir : « regardez comme je me préoccupe de mes collaborateurs, j’investi dans le coaching ».
Mais combien d’entreprises et d’organismes publics sont suffisamment vertueux pour permettre à leur(s) coach(s) interne(s) d’exercer de manière déontologique et ainsi ne pas devenirs leurs formateurs déguisés ?
Les relations coaché-commanditaire, coaché-coach et coach-commanditaire induites sont autant de facteurs de risque pour le processus du coaché.
Un certain inconfort lié à la “prescription“ du coaching par un commanditaire/payeur peut en parasiter le bon déroulement.
Il me semble alors légitime de se demander si ce processus aurait une portée différente pour le coaché s’il se passait en dehors de l’organisation.
Bien évidemment, nombreux sont les organismes privées ou publiques, qui font preuve de cette vertu évoquée plus haut et qui semblent réellement avoir compris le coaching comme une discipline qui accompagne efficacement leurs collaborateurs et non pas comme le “truc à la mode“.
Elles ont intégré que le coaché doit pouvoir prendre son processus à bras le corps sans avoir à se soucier du chemin emprunté, en respectant ses propres besoins et en se coupant des attentes de sa hiérarchie.
Il avance dans son apprentissage pour satisfaire ses propres ambitions. Ce faisant, il est aussi possible que ce cheminement puisse l’éloigner de ces attentes initiales.
Il ne s’agit pas de scier la branche sur laquelle je suis assis mais de dire que les entreprises qui font appel à des coachs professionnels doivent pouvoir comprendre ce que le coaching est vraiment, autant que ce qu’il n’est pas.
Ceci implique une certaine vertu chez les coachs externes également, en ne se lançant pas dans des missions qui les éloigneraient de leur code de déontologie.
